I have a question for everyone in the August spreadsheet. Did all of you that got the new form request, fill them out well in advance of sending them? Maybe weeks or months before sending your applications off? The reason is because I haven't gotten a request. Now I filled all the forms out in advance but when it came time to print them I couldn0t generate the barcodes so I had to go to Office depot on August 2nd and re-fill them and print them. So maybe they had been updated at that point and I sent the correct forms. So I was just wondering when everyone filled them in. I am hoping all is well but I have read so many horror stories about CIC that I'm wondering if maybe they have misplaced /lost my package or maybe I'm all good.

I guess it depends on timing. It is one of the first forms you might fill out as a sponsor, so I completed it and saved it first (and printed). Then the rest of the application and supporting documents. So it was pretty easy for most people not to have the correct form if they began the process in July.

The worst part is the applicants who submitted in July and are only now being processed by CIC in August...they too are being asked for an updated form that didn't exist at the time of submission. But I guess they are in control, so we just follow whatever they ask for.

If you look in the IMM1344 forms dated in July 2014 and August 2014, you will see that there is absolutely no difference. So let’s think why did they just change the date?

Well, when we look at the both forms as user perspectives (us/applicants) there might be no differences. However, when you think about the performance, functionality, interoperability, usability, security, and availability from CIC’s perspectives there has to be differences. It involves money to generate the back end codes and to update the form in their website too. So why do you think they are just changing the form in a month? Yes, there are absolutely reasons behind this which we don’t know about. But what I can tell you is that, if they ask you to update your IMM1344 form that is a good thing. We can also think that it is an AOR (not really, but we are getting an ACK), if you have received a request to update the form.

Not true. They updated the age of the dependent child on page 4, point B from 22 years of age down to 19 as of August 1. I guess since this is an undertaking by the sponsor, you have to have signed the proper form at the time it was in effect and submitted.

But yes, the good point is that you have additional info as to the processing of your application.

So if we have no dependents, will that still be an issue at the section is not applicable to us regardless of which version we submit?
(BTW, we sent Aug 22 and I believe it was recieved on Aug 25)

Unfortunately, yes it will still apply to you. I emailed CIC regarding this and they said that they need the new form. Did you not submit the updated form?

Do you have the e-mail for CIC?

Today evening we also received an email from CIC to send the updated IM1344 Aug 2014 version.

Thanks God, they have received required IMM1344 form!! :)

we received an email saying that CIC had received our package as of August 11. Is this considered AOR? I've updated the spreadsheet as such, but not sure if this means anything other than it's been received. Could I still receive a request for updated forms, or is this a sign that i am past that stage? Thanks all.

I think it's just an AOR. They may still ask you to submit an updated form. It's after the SA for sure you don't need to update the form.

Great. Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. Still playing the waiting game. But at least we know it's not collecting dust in a room somewhere.

Finally there are some activities in Aug applicant. :) I am wondering who the stage 1 approval email sends to the applicant or the sponsor?
