leoadrunner, i have heard of people trying to drop off applications at embassies, but i guess that is abroad, and i never heard back if it was successful.

if it is of any relief, mine was received just fine today with Canada Post! yeah, so sign me up essex! I sent it August 5th, and it was received today! Turned out to be 3 business days, not 2 as they had said, but it is only a fraction of our 17 months, so I don't mind one bit.

Best of luck to everyone here, I will send out some positive energy your way.

I wish I had used a mailing service other than Canada Post.. It sucks...

When I called them today regarding that "hold" issue...they are saying they have created a service ticket for this issue and it might take 4-5 days to resolve the issue..gosh....

what was the use of sending in the application with express post next day delivery than...And I wonder how come they can not verify the address of CPC Mississauga..it is a immigration office and must be well known to any mailing service as they have been receiving 1000s of applications...

Anyways I am stuck now... it hurts when you rush to mail your application and it gets stuck like this...

I will definitely sue the Canada Post of nothing happens in next couple of days..

Yeah thats another one added to the list.
Things are getting exciting lol.
I know some of us have a long wait but lets keep our heads up and we will see the light at the end of the tunnel :)

Oh kuku im sorry to hear they still haven't delivered it, on the good note you know they still have it and not lost it. I know its not much but some people arent that lucky.

Oh and I forgot to mention that my beauty (the application) was a good 3.055 kilos! and 3 inches high (4" with binder clips)! I hope it gets to Bogota in one piece.

Kuku, would it be more effective to go to Canada Post in person? They might have some insight and are usually willing to help out a happy faced customer.

OMG 3.055 k that is heavy makes ours like like a baby at only 0.64 k lol.
We did send everything they asked for and all the evidence for relationship that we had so we will see if its enough.
sixrogue your right about a boost to keep us going while we all wait so i'll start with the first question.
When all immigration bits are done here and there what will you be doing on your first full day of free canada time?

I sent a giant application, because I didn't want to give them any excuse for an interview. I dont know how common fraud is through the Bogota office, but I assume it exists. Like many other cases, the wait time is long and the airfare is expensive, so I felt like I had to give it all I had in one shot. ...plus our case isnt entirely straight forward (we don't use email, and live in a very rural area, for example).

there are def tonnes of cases where the small succinct application gets approved. i wish ours could have been like that!

Anyway, for our first day? TO THE BEACH!!!

Kuku, which address did you place on the envelope? Did you use the PO Box or did you use the 2 Robert Speck Parkway one?

You can probably call the Post and ask them to check if the address was printed correctly.

sixrogue what part of canada are you/will you be living in?
We are planning Niagara falls area, so our day will be spent there having fun, eatting lots and to end the perfect day watching the fireworks over the falls to celebrate our new lives :)

Infact that question can go out to all, where r u picking to settle?

Terrible, not so long ago it was running in the mid 30 range. I wonder if this new conservative majority is slowly grinding things on purpose. Grrr.

@dakonej

I used PO box Address as I mailed it with Canada Post...And I verified the address....so let us see how long it takes now..

application is at Mississauga post office..I will see if I can go personally to the post office... it would have been better to mail the application personally rather than sending with Canada post, If I knew that I would need to go to Mississauga anyway !!!! :)

hey guys

One of the experts on this forum said that during the summertime the govt reposts and shuffles around Visa Officers. Now, I am not sure if that includes Mississauga, but if so, it would explain the changes in time. So its just our luck!

essex,
I'm in a suburb of Vancouver now, planning to stay around here, but we'll see how things go. Housing is incredibly expensive.

Everything is ready to be mailed out... 8)

But told hubby to mail it on monday instead as if he mails it tommorow it would be stuck in the postal office over the weekend anyways....dont want to chance it being misplaced, what do you guys think?

11th august + 52 days = 2nd october
Or
15th august + 52 days = 6th october
