Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I landed in Toronto, Canada in March 2011. Luckily, I found a job here as a high school teacher instantly. However, there is no saving, u know well. Now I am planning to move to Saudi Arabia(KSA) and have got a very 'very' good offer handy from a university. I'm planning to mover to KSA in September 2013. By that time I would have stayed here in Canada almost 2 years and 6 months. SO I am short of 6 month before I apply for Canadian Passport.

My first question is.....if I come back to Canada for 1 month every year during summer vacation, and fulfill the 3 years requirement, would I be eligible to apply for citizenship after 6 years? I understand that I will have to take PR extension after 5 years.

Secondly, I have got another offer from a Poly-technique College which works in collaboration of a Canadian company. (This Canadian company is not a recruiting company rather it is a kind of sister company of that Saudi Poly-technique College. According to CIC website, (Reference: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp#keep_status)

Time spent outside Canada may also count towards meeting the residency obligation (for Citizenship Applicants) if you are:
•accompanying your Canadian citizen spouse or common-law partner;
•an employee of, or under contract to, a Canadian business or the public service of Canada or of a province and you are assigned on a full-time basis to:
•a position outside Canada;
•an affiliated enterprise outside Canada; or
•a client of the Canadian business or the public service outside Canada;

My second question is.....I feel I am unable to understand this easy English passage, would you please explain it in your own and simple words

PS: I have only few day remaining to inform my employers about my availability. Would appreciate, if you could, reply at your earliest convenience.)

No - you can't get citizenship this way.

To qualify to apply for citizenship, you must live in Canada for three years out of the last four years before applying.

You have misunderstood this rule. It only applies to meeting the residency requirement for permanent residency.

This rule does NOT apply to the residency requirement for citizenship and for this reason will not help you when it comes to meeting the residency requirement for citizenship.

To qualify for citizenship, you must physically live in Canada for three years (1095 days) out of the last four years before you apply.

Thank you very much indeed scylla ........for your time and explanation. Much obliged. God bless you! Take care
