Attn CEC applicants from US : Urgent Help/Carification on passport request !!

Hi CEC applicants from US,

Pls clarify/ help on below query:

Have any one of you who have applied for CEC PR from US - Sent and received their passport back from Ottawa to US mailing address after one receives the passport request letter from CPP-O office?

Is it mandatory to give a Canada mailing address when you send the passports to CPP-O office ?
No information is given in the passport request letter for people who don't have mailing address in Canada, From beginning of application processing our address in file is the US one - So confused here... Pls help..

you really should do a search - there are a lot of people who send their passports from the US and from other countries.

you have options: you can send your passport to Ottawa, they will mail it back to you in the US but it will be sent using regular mail and not any kind of secure mail.
you can also send your passport to a friend in Canada who can send it on to Ottawa for you with the secure return envelope. then they can courier it back to you.

Received our passports back from Ottawa office through regular Canada post mail on Jan 15th..
Was wondering to share a Canada address to CPP-O through email .. Your confirmation helped me to wait for regular mail return to our US address..
