Hello to all!

I was almost done with my application, when I decided to review again the forms on the CIC website. I noticed now a recent change made on January 20, 2014 in the IMM5443E Document Checklist for Application for Permanent Residence From Within Canada – Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class (IMM 5289) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp

The only change is that now the Inland applications should be send to CPC Mississauga and not to CPC Vegreville. As described in the bottom of the new form and also in the description of CPCs http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/mississauga.asp

I was going to submit also an Open Work Permit, but this type of application is still being processed in the CPC Vegreville. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/vegreville.asp What should I do now? Should I send my OWP application to CPC Mississauga with my PR pplication or should I send my OWP application separately to CPC Vegreville?

PLEASE HELP ME!
:(

To save you looking, you cannot submit an OWP application any longer with a Spousal Sponsorship PR application. So, don't waste your time trying. They have closed the "implied status" loophole. CPC-M will invite you to send an OWP application AFTER you have reached the AIP stage.

Has anyone actually been able to officially confirm that an OWP app can no longer be submitted with the inland PR app? Has CIC posted this somewhere on their website?

Nop, I would send them both to CPC-M ( because that's the only official change from jan 15,2014. The processing center ) ,but I would call 18882422100 just to make sure. I don't know from where ,some people are assuming that owp app has to be sent after AIP ?!? I don't see it anywhere on their website .

This is all based on a report from someone who enquired of CIC. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/new-sponsorship-rules-canada-makes-it-even-harder-for-us-t182180.0.html

Yes, I saw that thread. I'm surprised that you are willing to take that as fact with absolutely no evidence or confirmation from CIC, merely the words of a person who says they talked to the Call Centre. We all know how often the Call Center is wrong.

Given the fact that there is has been actual official confirmation from CIC and that the manuals haven't been updated to reflect any change, I believe that you should stop advising others of this like it's fact.

A valid point... We will just have to see how it pans out.
