Hi everyone , I have basic Question , I live in a 3rd world country where might is right , hence I wont go into the lengthy story of persecution faced by me and my family
I wanted to know since the Regime here had placed me on travel restriction among other Human rights violation , I have to ask a favour from a friend and use his passport to escape , I dont know If I will be able to carry my original hard copies of ID etc with me, once I reach the Port of Entry , Say the airport what will be the procedure (steps) and who would I need to inform about the situation and how many counters of security will I need to go through and declare my story and what will be asked of me and will they allow a counsel to help me in this screening process as if They send me back I will be immediately taken into custody and to an unknown place from which I am trying to flee in the first place
Thanks and be safe , Its a blessing

First of all, which airport will you be coming to or which city?
At the airport, say you want to take asylum. They will check your ID and if you don't have one just say you don't have one.
They will get you basic information and will give you an asylum claim paper
You will need to fill out the rest of the forms and basis of the claim and submit it to a regional IRB office
They will provide a lawyer to help you but those lawyers don't do the job properly. It is recommended that you pay for your own consular or lawyer
You need solid proof that your life is in danger and process taking a long time these days

Thanks for your response , regarding airport I dont have any preference Ontario / Toranto/ Vancovar / or any other which do you sugest,
as long as I am able to , Its hard to leave family behind family and so so much , I never wanted to do this but I am Tired of everything.
Please also if I may ask, how long will it take to my family left behind can join me, it will pain me to breath without them, I am getting emotional even thinking of taking this.

So you have a valid TRV? Or are you entering with a Canadian passport?

Be prepared for a 3 year wait before your family can join you. The family that will qualify to join you is your spouse and any minor children (under 22).

Good luck.

It really doesn’t matter where you make the claim, i would suggest smaller cities because of less people claiming asylum the province of Alberta or Saskatchewan will be little better because a lot of people claim asylum in Ontario, BC, Quebec, Manitoba

Be prepared for at-least 3-4 years.

How are you coming here anyway? Do you have visa already?

Do you have a visa to enter Canada ? If yes, then you’ll make your claim once you’re in Canada .

If you don’t have a visa , then any advice given is irrelevant

Unfortunately my passport is confiscated and A friend has offered to help me get out using his travel documents , he is taking a big risk himself

When The situation is bad one is forced to take whatever messures possible, ........

If you use someone else's identification, that can create additional challenges / complexities for your refugee claim. Just be prepared for that.

Good luck.
