Asylum rejected in 2005- shall i mention it in IMM5257

I am now a frequent flyer and have very strong ties with homeland, however my ex husband sought asylum in Canada back in 2003 which was refused and we cam back voluntarily within the departure order date. i am working with a multi national and got divorced in 2014. Now i want to visit canada for vacations, but this question 2 about previous visit to canada (2b and 2c)in IMM5257 have really confused me. shall i answer it YES? what impact would it have on my application?
i have 5 years USA multiple entry visa which is valid till 2021 but i haven't visited USA as yet. would ths impact mu US visa if i answer about refugee claim?

Yes - you must declare it. You would have been a dependent in your husband's application.

If you don't declare it in Questions 2b and 2c, you run the risk of being banned for 5 years for misrepresentation. This could effectively result in visa refusals for most other countries too.

You must also state your previous names, including your previous married name (if applicable) in Question 2, Personal Details
