hi, i need some help here.... so my wife is from costa rica, we got married in costa rica, she wants to change her last name to mine, it says on the service Ontario website that we need a marriage certificate from Ontario, is my marriage certificate from costa rica good enough? thanks.

Gary

Yes it should be, I changed mine with my marriage certificate from Egypt. I also had to take in the English translation(certified/authenticated) by the Canadian Embassy in Cairo. They didn't have a problem with it, but took copies for their files.

Marriage certificates from certain countries must be apostilled.
Mine is from the USA, there was no need to have it apostilled.
