Urgent Request for Extension of Deadline – Passport Submission

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing regarding the permanent residence application of *********, the principal applicant, and her accompanying family members, ******** and**********.
We received an IRCC letter dated July 29, 2026, requesting the submission of our passports and required documents within 30 days. The deadline is August 29, 2026.
We immediately arranged a VFS Global appointment to comply with this request. However, due to an administrative error, the appointment was registered only under the name of the principal applicant.
On August 24, 2026, an authorized person went to VFS Global on our behalf. VFS accepted the passport and documents of the principal applicant, [Grandmother’s]*********, but could not accept the passports of [Mom]******* and [Son]******** because they were not included in the appointment.
We immediately contacted VFS Global for a new appointment. Unfortunately, the earliest appointment available is September 2, 2026, which is after the IRCC deadline.
We therefore respectfully request an extension of the deadline to allow us to submit the remaining passports and required documents at the September 2 appointment.
We wish to emphasize that we acted promptly and made every effort to comply with IRCC’s request. The delay resulted solely from the appointment issue and the limited availability of a new VFS appointment.
The principal applicant’s passport is already with IRCC for processing. We have been informed that it is expected to be returned within approximately 17 days. We also have a travel deadline and must leave Haiti no later than November 17, 2026.
We respectfully ask IRCC to take these circumstances into consideration and grant the requested extension so that the permanent residence application is not affected.
We can provide the IRCC letters, VFS appointment confirmation, and any other supporting documents upon request.
