Hi,
Currently I am doing my PG Diploma in Web Development (Humber community College). As I have 3.5 yrs exp, I hope I will get a job in IT field. I am about to get married soon. My question is, If I get married can I bring my wife to stay with me in Canada(i live in Etobicoke, Toronto). Can I offer a sponsorship(dependent visa) to her so that she can come and try for a job?

Please let me know the possibilities..

TIA,
csp

I take it that you are not a Canadian citizen. Once you are a permanent resident, you can sponsor your wife as a family member as long as you are living in Canada when you do it. Read the first message in http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-sponsorship-t46995.0.html for all the basics.

As for adding her onto your temporary work or study permit if you marry her after you are already here, I'm not well informed on whether you can do that. If that's what you're thinking of, maybe asking in the worker section of the forum.

Sounds to me like the OP is not a PR but a temporary resident (student).

If so, his wife is eligible for an open work permit, which she can apply for before hand or (if visa-exempt) on entry into Canada.

What I'm wondering is whether she's "accompanying" because he didn't come to Canada at the time that he did (because she wasn't his wife at the time, and isn't now actually, yet). Can she be added as an accompanying spouse if he marries her after his temporary visa started?
