Hi,

My apologies as this is undoubtedly covered in the forum, however...

My partner, son and I arrive in Canada in May and she must go through her permanent residence questions from immigration (my son and I are citizens).

Our final destination is Halifax but we travel via Toronto and connect from there. All as part of the same flight, just a 2 hour wait in Toronto.

Two questions please:

1) As our final destination is halifax I presume that's where the questions from immigration will take place?
2) We arrive in Halifax very late at night. Will we have to arrange to come back to the airport so she can undergo the process when immigration is open? Or do they ever close?!

There are likely obvious answers to these but I'd like some clarification please?

Thanks

1) No - the landing process will take place in Toronto since this will be your first port of entry into Canada. 2 hours between flights should leave you with plenty of time to go through this process.
2) If the airport is open then immigration is open.
