Are time estimates accurate ?

I am just curious how accurate everyone thinks the CIC times for each step/ office are? As of now it shows 63 days and 17 months for our office. However I have seen many Americans on here with shorter time lines. So I am curious everyone's thoughts on this. I really am hoping we won't have to return to the states.

American apps are generally processed in Ottawa, not sure what visa office you're looking at.

The posted processing times for the respective Visa offices is not an average. It's how long it takes them to process 80 percent of all cases through that office. So 79% are processed sooner than 17 months, and most Americans going through Ottawa with complete applications and good back up can expect 8-10 months processing.

Thank you!! That makes more sense. I thought these were averages.
