Hi y'all! I was just about to book an appointment for my wife to take the pre-departure seminar for Canada so that I may get her soon. I know she needs to do that in order to leave the Philippines but while on the website I got directed to another seminar , something about foreign spouses. Does anyone know about this? Is this also a must do before she can leave the Philippines???

Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance everyone!

It is a must to get the seminar and sticker before she can leave the country. She has only 1 seminar; either PDOS or GCP.
Pdos- if the sponsor is a PR
GCP- If the sponsor is citizen

Thanks for the reply neenvin. Okay so she doesn't need to attend both seminars? I'm her sponsor and husband also I'm a Canadian citizen.

Frankly the information isn't very good and no one from the Philippine government has even told us what we need to do so it's very confusing.

Yes. I just read it from this forum and other forums about that information. And since I am a citizen, my husband only took GCP seminar.

I know someone who's taken both seminars and people who don't know the correct information.

After your husband finished the GCP they stickered his visa?

Thank you....My family is worried that if she doesn't take both seminars she'll be denied when trying to leave. So it made me really worried too and it didn't make sense to me as to why she has to take two seminars.

No problem. They will know what seminar they will give your wife and since both seminars takes place in the same room. Just make sure she gets a sticker and GCP certificate. Google them to see how they look like.

Sorry neenvin, one more thing (I apologize as you've been the most helpful person regarding this subject)

I was reading the documents my wife needs in order to do the seminar. I saw she needed her marriage certificate and two IDs but I saw other things that she might need about me? Such as some sort of documentation of myself , maybe like a photocopy of my passport or something?

I swear this is my last question! Thanks so much

I read those too. Just to be in the safe side.. i took a picture of my passport and my citizenship card and emailed them to my husband and told him to print them just in case they asked for them.
