Do they ask for photos at the time of landing for processing PR card application?

Will they use these photos for PR card or the ones that we sent ealier with final documents (the same photo that is posted on the landing papers)?

How many should I bring?

Kindly confirm.

Thanks

I think they use the ones sent with the application. I believe that if they are not good enough, CIC will contact you to have them retaken AFTER you land so that your PR card can be created. You will need to be in Canada to have the new ones taken as far as I know.

It's weird to me if they would want photos from you after issuing your COPR.. if it wasn't up to standards I think they would just return it and have you do it again before issuance?

But I suppose if they do things differently now and if you're paranoid just make another 4-6 using the correct guidelines given.

It has happened in some cases that they have realized after the fact that the photos sent with the PR applications were not according to the specifications and in such cases, they will ask for new ones. I am not sure who is to blame in these cases. You would think they could see that as soon as they get them.

I am not sure that the immigration officers are equipped to take your new photos as you land or if they would even know at the time if your photos are ok or not. I think it's better to wait and see. If your photos were not ok, you can have new ones taken any time. Just make sure that you give the specs to the photographer and that the photos are correct before you leave. If the photos are not according to specs, make them take another until they get it right.
