thanks that is what I am thinking too! Just that due date that scares me lol

how long has it been since the aor, or the last correspondence you have had with them ?
for us it was only a couple weeks from when we sent in our last documents to get the arc request, but that was also when there was no strike :-\
at the end of march they requested the rprf fee and a new schedule A and I have had no correspondence with them since. Based on my VO the last two people who got ARC requests receives them via snail mail not email.

Everything is abreviated but it's possible to figure out by using common sense. When I received my notes this week, it only made me angry at the lack of progress they have made after holding my wife's passport for 6 months! I could actually see two week time gaps in which absolutely nothing was done with our application!
wow u are lucky I order my notes every month and there are times I see no movement for over a month!

Ahhhhh ARC letter received today in the mail! Woohoo so happy right now!

Yay! Congrats Chickie! That is the greatest news for a Friday! Are they requesting payment along with a letter stating why he feels he should be authorized to return? How long do they give for you to return everything to them?
Just asking out of curiosity. My husbands exclusion order will be up at the end of this month so wondering if they still require the letter or just payment?
Congrats! He's coming home soon!

we have until oct 13th to submit but they only asked for the fee no letter. If your order is almost over then they won't ask for the arc. There was a girl on Kingston thread that her exclusion ended in may they asked for arc fee in march and because the order was up before he got passport back, they returned her $400.

Yes he soon come I think by Christmas time!

It's about time Chickie!

I'm super happy for you, truly! You surely deserve it BIG TIME!!! ;D

I read often about the ARC letter, what does it means exactly? Is it the letter that indicate that the decision is made, telling you what papers they need, length of time given to submit documentation and in order to receive the landing date of your spouse as well as other procedures?

I'm new to all this and Kingston don't even answer my email to confirm that my husband's file have been received. I would just appreciate to make sure that the application didn't get lost on it's way to JA. As you know, the ecas don't say anything much...

Thanks in advance for your advices and explanations. We don't have any control on the length of the hole processing time, but it is so much better when we know what will be the next step. That way we can prepare ourself, it's not like we don't have the time to do so :P

Have a GREAT week-end!

hey there thanks so much! Yes it is great to hear that something is finally happening and i know this is the last part they need before passport request so it makes me happy!!!! The ARC request is a payment of $400 to the government of Canada asking them to return to Canada, since my hubby was already in Canada and denied refugee, he got sent back to JA with a permanent ban from entering canada so he has to request permission to return and the fee.

This process is long and hard and it is made harder in a sense by not knowing what is going on with your case. My hubby has emailed Kingston for the last three weeks, one email a week and they haven't responded at all either. I think if we had more updates then we would feel better knowing how the process is going and the wait wouldn't be so hard on us! Hold tight to the faith my friend your hubby will be home before u even know it!

Hey I'm new to this forum and was just wondering since they did not ask u for the arc letter, r u still going to send a letter or ur just going to pay the arc fee as they requested?

i am just going to pay the fee. I am not sure why they didn't ask for the letter but we had originally sent a letter kind of pleading our case when we sent in the application so I am not sure if that is what they are using or maybe because my husband had no criminal record in Canada that is why they didn't ask for it.

Hey Chickie!
Thanks for all your information.
Is it typcial refugee claimants that are denied receive a permanent ban versus an exclusion order? I am just trying to get an understanding of what exactly occurs for my own knowledge.
Thanks again for sharing your experience.
