I am but my tracker just got updated to “Scheduled for Interview” date is Feb 25.

Citizenship test July 20
Citizenship + Background passed Aug 23. LPP, Prohibitions and Language stuck in "in progress"
Ghost update Sept 25th, no change in status.
Jan 28 - notification of interview required via email (no other notification nor portal update was provided)
Feb 5 - In-person interview. They asked standard questions to verify my identity but also mentioned that my travel records for a trip I took in 2023 did not match the dates reported by CBSA. Apparently the CBSA records indicated that I was out of the country 2 days longer than than I actually was.
The officer asked me if I had evidence to prove my entry/exits. I had my passport entry stamp for the foreign country and this served as proof for the date I exited Canada. However, I didn't get a stamp upon returning as Canada no longer stamps passports. So this was causing problems in my physical presence calculation. Because I applied with 1096 days, this put me right at the edge of eligibility. However, at 1095 days of physical presence I still qualified even with this discrepancy. Later when I went home, I was able to dig up my boarding passes (glad I didn't get rid of them) and other evidence to show my reentry and sent them via the IRCC webform and submitted a request for a record correction with the CBSA.
Feb 7 - Language skills, physical presence, and prohibitions completed
Feb 9 - At long last, Oath scheduled for Feb 28!

This is exactly why even the IRCC recommends applying with a couple days of buffer. Literally 0 point in cutting it close. Just the 2 months of delay caused by waiting for interview and so forth defeats the purpose.
Yup. Which is why I checked, double checked, and triple checked my dates. If CBSA had done their job properly this would not have happened. What if they had recorded that I reentered a year later or that I never reentered? Should I have just delayed months and years "just in case" they made mistakes?
I applied when I was eligible to apply. I knew exactly when I travelled, I used the online physical presence calculator to validate my calculation. Everything was reported as instructed. Yes, my 1096 buffer day did help but people should not be worried to apply if they maintain accurate records.

BG and prohibitions left for me. I guess April files are cursed. October and November AORs already getting oaths and we are left in limbo!!!!
Overall I agree with you - BUT one or two days buffer is not much buffer at all. For most people I'd suggest a couple of weeks if you can, or if you're not in a rush, a month.
My spouse applied with only about a week buffer - it was a calculated risk, but we also had CBSA entry-exit records, and one exit was missing. It was obviously an error, and I knew we did have the info, if needed. It was technically possible to be a few days short if the worst interpretation of the actual day of exit, would have been unlikely (eg would have had to leave a day after the last entry). We actually included the CBSA entry-exit records with a note that clearly there was one exit missing.
Nonetheless we did get the interview. Probably it did delay things a little bit (but not to point where it mattered - background and prohibitions seem to be the delay now).
Each applicant can do as they wish of course, but really, a bit more buffer is a good idea IMO.
May not apply to you but I remind: if you are even ONE DAY short, the citizenship app cannot be approved - the law is clear. The most common issue here is an applicant forgetting a short trip, a couple days or even a week; in that circumstance, with a 30 day buffer, you're good, with a one day buffer - start over.
