I guess we have to wait for our turn to come. My primary office is Vancouver and ppl are saying it is the slowest of all. lol. BG and Prohibition is still in progress for me. May be this question is for @ChanchalArora.

based on the latest processing time update, April Applicant has 3 more months to go. Hopefully Vancouver office will speed up for us.

It seems that the Vancouver office 'owns' (is called primary) files when they do security screening (as far as I can tell, that means for all files, although possibly ones that get semi-automatic clearance or lowest level either aren't attributed to vancouver or only for a very short period of time - which would look the same to an outsider).

After that - again, as far as we can tell - it goes to 'local' offices for the oath etc.

In other words - it's not that we got unlucky by having our files sent to vancouver; if Vancouver does all the files for security (or for those that have longer screening) - it's not 'Vancouver' that's slow, just the security process.

Sometimes I wonder why some files get their security clearance in 48 hrs!!!!! While others are taking months and months to clear!!!!!

I wondered that too, but hang in there, if our applications are considered routine, hopefully they will have to speed up our case and finish in 3 months.

They surely have a number of factors that sort them into "pre-automatic-clearance" / "put on the rubber gloves, deep search required" and everything in between.

I'm sure they use some kind of machine learning as well.

But let's face it - there are some - children, very young adults, etc - when there are no hits on databases and profile indicates likely no issues at all, and those get quick clearance after (ikely) a brief eyes-on check by an officer. (And do they have 'controls' for those automatic ones, just to double check? Probably - sample basis or similar, i.e. pull a file for more checks once in a while just to see if the 'standard' files aren't hiding something they haven't noticed.)

I have a similar time line like yours. Application on April 29th. AOR June 4, July 8 test invite, 11th July test done. Test passed July 16th and updated on tracker August 13th. L and P on September 24th, waiting for BG and Prohibitions> My question: If your BG and Prohibitions were finalized what was the time it took from language and presence to BG and prohibitions to complete?

I am not so sure, I believe it may vary from person to person. For me, Language Complete, Prohibitions Complete and Physical Presence Complete were all updated on the same day.

I and my wife finally got our citizenship invites last month!

It’s for the same day, Venue and time. The invite states that we can come with friends and family, but doesn’t state the number or if it’s limited. We plan on bringing 6 people in total. Is this too much? What do y’all think?

The instructions say one person for each applicant/new citizen, I believe.

My understanding is the rooms are generally close to full but you can try if you wish. You won't get in trouble for trying and asking nicely.

Thats unusual, I would suggest calling IRCC or raise a web form to make sure they are not waiting for something from you.

Hello guys, I submitted my application in April 2025, started processing April 9, background check is completed, test is passed and completed. No update since June 7 2025, I recently applied for ATIP notes and i saw “Grant Interview Ready In-Person” dos anyone knows what this means? And what could they possibly ask at the interview if it means interview is requested. Thanks
