Hi all,

Canadian citizen applying to sponsor European Husband, we have been married 3+ years and have lived together since our marriage in Europe. Now I have moved back to Canada and have begun the application process.

Initial submission was March 27, 2017 which was returned to me April 19, because I did not submit the required 10 pages of texts.

I have resubmitted everything on April 25, 2017.

Will update you myself on the April 2017 spreadsheet.

Cheers to you all!

Hi everyone,

Has anyone received or heard anything from CIC yet, for those who have submitted their application on April 4th?

Thank you.

No, not yet. My application as received on 4th April as well. I think there are quite a number of 4th April applicants who are waiting for AOR. Hopefully, we will get it soon.

Thank you for the swift reply. Yeah none of the April 4th have given any feedback yet. That in itself is a reassurance but yet again I wonder when we'll hear anything since April 3rd applicants have received AORs since last week Thursday. Fingers crossed, hopefully this week.

I am an april 5 applicant. I feel like the april applicants are really the ones suffering the most, since jan and feb applicants got their AORs so quickly. Also there was Easter long weekend that played a huge role in the delay as well. Hopefully within the next two days, and most definitely the week after hopefully!

:D Indeed, you have a point. Hopefully we don't suffer too long. It's a long shot but hopefully that suffering gets compensated by faster application processing. :P

Need some help, friends. I am sponsoring my wife. We don't have any other dependent. In Generic Application form, Point 3 (How many family members are in this application), does she need to mention 1 or 2 (including me)? I'm little confused, since I am the sponsor, should she count me or herself only?

Hi, the total number should reflect the number of applicants which in this case would be one (you wife only).

Thanks mate.

Hi I'm not sure if the above information you have been told is correct regarding the amount of family members, when I filled in the generic application it would not allow me to validate the form as your common law partner is considered as a family member which counts as 2 people in your application. If you do not add your common law partner it will let you select 1 family member
But I am 100% sure that you have to include your common law partner in the application. Try it out and see if it works for you

I didn't seem to have any trouble validating the form with one family member. I am a bit intrigued by the 'common law partner' suggestion. Since the application is for the applicant residing outside Canada, that would mean they are not living together as a couple. At least that's what I'm guessing. In conclusion that would make it down to only one applicant (the wife with no dependent). The sponsor shouldn't be counted as an applicant.
