Hey fireluck,

as on the website they are up to 11th of April, you are "entitled" to call them and ask about your file as your date has passed... and they might be able to tell you that you have been approved, so you don't have to wait anymore. Not sure if you are in Canada or not, if not then it would be hard to call. They have approved up to 17th of April, and the website says 11th April so you can call... good luck!

Welcome Girzim! Its nice to have another Seoul visa person. So far the few Seoul people I have found have had a nightmarish time with the office on account of proof of intent to live in Canada. Is the sponsoring person in your case living in Korea? Either way hopefully things will go well for us.

To answer your question I received my approval by email. I´m not sure how to update information with CIC, but probably someone else knows.

Hi NewlyWed, Yeah, we both live in Korea. He's Canadian and I'm Irish and we're planning on moving to Canada next year. We had a problem trying to prove intent to live in Canada too. We just didn't know what to say other than, we want to leave Korea and it was a choice between Ireland and Canada and Canada won. I am pretty nervous about having to explain all this to immigration though! Was that the same situation as the other people you know or was it different? Thanks for your reply and stay safe during this weird typhoon we seem to be having! Jenny

Now these may sound like stupid questions, but What does AOR stand for ? and I thought it was an approval if not when do you get approved ? and is it also an email ?

AOR stands for Acknowledgement Of Receipt
which means they visa officer has opened your file and now is in the system and after that you can expect the approval soon
Approval means that you are being approved to sponser your spouse and by this your stage 1 is complete and stage 2 starts. and after approval your file is sent to the visa office you selected in your or your spouse's country
AOR usually is sent by email (can be by mail as well)
and approval is sent by email as well mail

Thanks .. truthfully I don't really know, it was sent through my lawyers office, I was told it was send on the 16th which in April was on a Monday, I would assume 2-3 days till arrival ?
