Approx processing time after submission

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to get an idea about the processing time it takes to get the final interview for the PR after submittting the application. I am planning to submit my application towards the end of Feb after uploading all the documents. So let's take it all my documents are in place and no correction is needed, how long does the processing time take and I belive I will also have to attend an interview with the officer in the city I am living in.

The reason I am asking is because I plan to travel after submiiting my application and I dont want to plan it in the future if that clashes with any of the work which requires me to physically present in my home city to finish the PR work.

Also after the final interview whats the approx data that a conformation will be recieved?

You can submit your application from anywhere in the world. Interviews are extremely rare. I'm yet to read about any interview calls on this forum. Processing time is 6 months but can be longer as with some members of the forum. You can get on with your life and travel wherever you want. You just need to send your passport during COPR stage.

Thanks for reply.. so no interview hmm.. The reason I thought there would be an interview is because one of my friend had applied to Canada i think 3 years back. Although back then the process was different.

So from what you are saying, if all the papers are right with no errors.. CIC will just ask me to send the passport to the embassy located in my city or will I have to send my original passport to them by courier?

Also has a average time it takes to get the COPR is 7-8 months to be safe?

they will ask you to send it to the nearest visa office, usually located in the capital city of the country you are applying from or country of residence .... or some other capital city in a neighbouring country...
