Approved at interview and medical redone but...

posting for a Quebec friend here. I am finished with PR myself...

Her husband was approved at the interview, Dominican Republic, he just had to redo his medical, he did them October 12th.... they never got the passport request though.
Now they are telling her they are doing his “antecedents” which i gather is the background check?

Is that normal?
When we did ours last yr the passport request came in within a month, i dont know anything about a background check... its weird

Background is what I can think of here. It can tale from days to months depending on how many countries were visited.
