How long does it typically take to get AIP for a case like this.

Parents sponsoring their dependent child below 18 years. Child is the only PA.

I would like to know so that we can buy health insurance for him accordingly

There is no AIP with dependent child sponsorship. They are all processed as outland applications. You should be expecting an overall processing time of 6-8 months.

Oh thank you. Is there any other way to show them that his PR is under processing to get his OHIP? I see people who are in work permit and their dependents even though are visitors ,get OHIP but they denied my 1yo saying he has no status

I'm not aware of any way to get OHIP until he has PR.

Hi Jancy, what has your experience been, were you successful in getting ohip...? Or did you wait till approval.
