Applying visa for spouse,but how?

Hello there,

I have a status of foreign worker in Ontario,having 3 years work permit ( LMO ). I am doing job since last 14 months and now I am eligible to apply under CEC.
I want to bring my spouse here ASAP, got married in April 2012.

Lawyer gave me 2 options

1) Apply spouse sponsorship on the basis of foreign worker spousal sponsorship and she will get open work permit !

OR

2) File my application for PR in CEC and after getting file # client ID which usually takes 3 to 4 month then add my spouse in application which will take 13 to 18 months further.

My question is Which option is best for me and reasonable that we get together asap ! please help as i am confuse now

I agree to your agents first (1) suggestion. As you have almost two more years work permit, you should bring your spouse and she get an open work permit.

how 1st option will work,? I mean 1st i will apply her visitor visa when she come at port of entry then she will ask immigration officer to issue her open work permit on the spot or she can apply later ?

or we apply work permit directly ? plz advice
