So i recently completed my one year of full time work after my post grad certification and gathering all the documents to apply for PR under CEC. I am curious to know the opinion of all the people here, who are way more knowledgeable then me

Al rite so this is my situation

I have worked as a Help desk Analyst (NOC 2282) for 8 months (08/23/2012 to 04/22/2013). Although my contract with the company was for 2 years, i got a better opportunity for a permanent position with benefits where my role is as a Software Quality assurance specialist (NOC 2283 or 2171?(confused)), i have completed 4 months for the qa position and looking forward to apply for PR under 2283 or 2171

My IELTS results are

Listening-7.5
Reading -6.5
Writing -6.0
Speaking -8.0
Overall -7.0

My question is

1. Will there be a problem to club two experiences with different NOC categories? [NOC 2282 for 8 months + NOC 2283 or 2171 for 4 months] ?
2. Also is my IELTS result good enough for NOC A and B? incase if they decide my qa postion falls under NOC A?
3. My hourly salary is mentioned in the letter, since i was on a contract. But if i did work for all the hours i potentially ended up making the yearly wages as mentioned in the letter, just curious to know if this might create a problem??
4. Is the letter mentioned below, clear enough to describe my duties for 2282?

Re: Applying under CEC with 2281 + 2283

My question is

1. Will there be a problem to club two experiences with different NOC categories? [NOC 2282 for 8 months + NOC 2283 or 2171 for 4 months] ?

No. You can combine skilled positions to get the required 12 months for CEC.

2. Also is my IELTS result good enough for NOC A and B? incase if they decide my qa postion falls under NOC A?

Yes, your language test results are fine for either skill level A or B.

3. My hourly salary is mentioned in the letter, since i was on a contract. But if i did work for all the hours i potentially ended up making the yearly wages as mentioned in the letter, just curious to know if this might create a problem??

As long as hourly wage and/or total annual salary is mentioned and the duration of employment, you should be fine.

4. Is the letter mentioned below, clear enough to describe my duties for 2282?

Letter looks good and duties match NOC 2283. Although I'm missing benefits?

Check notes in red. Cheers

Agreed. Benefits won't be a big issue though. As long as what you have on your letter(s) match your T4/NOA.

Thanks for replying guys, for the first job i dint really have any benefits since it was a contract position. But now i do, i ll make sure my HR doesnt miss that out on the letter :) this kind of information really helps. I will soon post that letter for review once i get it ;)

@iam_toby does the letter match 2283 or 2282?

@jsm0085 yup my T4 shows employment income of $10379, that means approx 10379/14.26 = ~727 hours and then i have my pay stubs to calculate the rest of my hours, 1950 are the total hours that i need to calculate rite? also my T4 shows 81 (placement or employment agency workers) next to my employment income, will this be a problem?

Appreciate your replies :D

You need 1950hrs and 52 weeks.
2000hrs in 50 weeks are not enough, neither are 1000hrs in 70 weeks.

Appreciate your replies :D

Have a great weekend 8)

Thanks iam_toby :) you have a great weekend too.

Btw i had been to Commissionaires today to give my fingerprints for RCMP. My right thumb was not fingerprinted as it was bandaged ( dry chapped skin on right thumb ). so i ended up giving my prints for 9 fingers intead of 10 :( man i am scared if this will affect the results sent by RCMP. I asked the lady there at Commissionaires if it can be a problem, she said it would not, but i felt a bit of hesitation when she said that, getting paranoid about this whole thing now, if any 1 has a similar experience, please do share :) thanks :D
