Hi guys, a question:
On form IMM 5256, question number#9
According to guideline:
If you are not a citizen of the country or territory where you are applying, you must send proof of your legal status in the country or territory you live in when you submit your application.

If applying for a TRV and you are on vacation in a different coutnry that does not require a Visa from you, do you need to provide proof of legal Status? How is that possible to do if you are there for 2 weeks and you do not need a Visa?

If someone is only there for two weeks, they should wait until they have returned to their home country to apply. That's the best option. Chance of approval are generally higher if you apply from your home country.

If for some reason a person really wants to apply from a country where they are visiting, then I guess they can show a passport stamp as proof.

@scylla on TRV application form, does applying for spousal sponsorship count as
"Have you ever applied to enter or remain in Canada?"
