Hello everyone,
I will be applying from Pakistan. I have all the documents ready for SDS except for the medicals. It looks like the Medicals and biometrics will be closed for sometime. Should I use the explanation letter saying all IME office being closed while applying for SDS? or just apply through the normal process?

Incomplete SDS applications won't be processed until all the documents are submitted so, it will just be sitting there until I can get medicals and biometrics etc.? What do you suggest?

You do biometric after the application is submitted. You do need medical done in advance. Try lahore or Islamabad office its should be open. Don't even think about non sds application. Try to get the medical done ASAP and apply via SDS.

Hi, I have been waiting for a long time for the medical exams to commence but it seems they won't until at least July.
this is the message from IME people:

Dear Applicant,

Due to health safety concerns and ongoing restrictions of movement to contain COVID-19 pandemic, immigration health assessment activities at IOM Pakistan (all clinics in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Mirpur) are suspended until further notice.

We deeply regret the inconvenience this may cause you. Once we have permission to open we will advertise it on our website.

Please check our website https://mhdpakistan.iom.int/ regularly to get updates including resumption date of the activities.

Please contact us when the opening of our office is announced on our website and we will be able to schedule your appointment accordingly.

Kind Regards,

IOM Pakistan

Alternately, Can I just apply through SDS and submit the explanation letter that medical offices are closed so I will submit the medicals once they open? Has anyone done that? If not, should I just keep waiting until the medical exams offices reopen? Cant afford to wait long since the normal processing time is 12 weeks so I can barely make it for fall intake

Yes you can do that. IRCC stated on thier website that applicant will not be penalized for incomplete or missing documents due to COVID-19 pandemic. By applying now atleast you can get your application in queue. They will contact when they need additional documents.
My application is pending since January. Still waiting for final decision. As per their website processing of applications is suspended till June 30. So, we dont know when things will go back to normal. It they telling you processing time is 12 weeks it could take 15 or 20 weeks no one knows.

I dont think you can do it. While applying, it clearly asks you if you have done Upfront Medical or not.............If not, it does not chooese the SDS program for you...........If you select YES while not having the medicals actually, you will be lying and any explanation will not cover this lie.

Better, create an user in IRCC website and select the Study visa and try filling the options..........If you select NO for medicals and still it shows you SDS program, that means you are eligible...........Else if, the application proceeds without showing you SDS, it means you are eligible but for non-SDS,,,,,

Best way.........create a dummy login, fill the application questionaire and get to know......
