Hi guys,
I was just notified by my lawyer that my app. has been sent, so i guess i'm joining the 'life is waiting' club. I have a question that doesn't seem to have been mentioned here before, or i simply just didn't come across. i'm in the US on H1B, and in the process of obtaining the PR. I was given an offer of employment by a firm in toronto. now my question is, if i accept the offer and apply for the work permit, will it have any impact on the process for PR? if so, will it be negative or positive?

Thanks in advance!!

You require the firm in Toronto to obtain an Arranged Employment Option from HRSDC for it to be considered as arranged employment. I assume that you have experience on the "list" so if you are applying under FSW 1 then the application should be processed in 6-12 months and you wouldn't require an AEO.

But if you are applying under FSW2/3 then you would need it.

Thanks,

yes, i've submitted as NOC0111. i'm expecting it to take anywhere from 6 to 12 months as you say, but i'm wondering if I can obtain the work permit, go to toronto, and start working DURING the 6-12 month-period without disrubting or negatively impacting the PR process.
