Hi Everyone,

I am applying for Visitor visa and I will be in Canada for a month or so. I have friends in Canada but as per CIC, I don't have any documents to prove them. What will be your advise for a successful application?

Get documents to prove it... they are your friends so you can ask for an invitation letter from them.

If not, then do a complete itinerary with dates, prices and places/activities you will be doing for the whole month.

this what I did, when I lodged my TRV online application, I stated in my letter that I will be visiting friends in Toronto but I did not presented any invitation letter. Instead, I listed down an itinerary of common tourist spots around Toronto. Since I was not staying with my friends, I wrote down the hostel name, address and contact with no booking reference.

of note, I indicated that I will only be visiting Toronto from US as a short trip.

Glad I was successful on this application and given multiple TRV until passport expiration (2016)

visiting friends are okay but there are things that you should consider in a successful application, it would all depends if you are from a visa waived countries or not, you should satisfy the officers by complying with a strong documentation.
the things theyre looking at:
1. travel history
2. ties to your home country ( assets, employment, business, family )
3. funds for your travel ( bank statements ) - ( either you'll be supported by your friends or you'll be an independent traveler)

if you will be accommodated by your friend, then an invitation letter needed if not, then you should provide your itinerary ( round trip tickets, hotel reservations and places you'll visit )

lastly, a good coverletter is a plus :)
