Hi everyone

Has anyone gone through applying for a study permit whilst in Canada? My mother will take a one year course at a local community college, currently she has a 10 year visitor visa and I will be her sponsor for this program including living expenses accommodation etc. I am Canadian PR and have stable income

I am wondering what documents i'll need to provide to immigration as her main sponsor? ( Currently have in mind pay stubs, bank statement with funds and written statement indicating I'll be sponsoring her ).. Any inputs on what else I can include would be great

thank you!

If she is on a visitor visa then she will be processed from her home country. She will need to show career and education progression from her home country as well as her own funds (pay first-year tution and $10k). Even though she will stay with you, she still needs to show living expenses. Whether your funds will be considered will not be known until her file is reviewed. Your future income is not considered so it is bank accounts, investments etc.

So what is your real story? You posted earlier about wife and kids applying for study permit. If PR, why not sponsor them?
