Applying for extension of Tourist Visa

Hi,
My parents are here on Tourist Visa (not super visa). I had applied for their visa through the new portal. They arrived on November 2022. What is the best time to apply for their extension? Do I need to wait for sometime before applying got extension? Also, should I apply for extension in the old website the new portal?

You should apply right before the current stay expires. They seem to have have come to visit within a year of your arrival in Canada. There may be concern that they have tried to move to Canada with you.

Their stay expires on April end. So should i apply for extension around March end or later or can I apply now? Also they came more than 1.5 years after we arrived. We arrived in Feb 2021.
