Hi fellow members,
It's been a while since I've been to this amazing forum. I do have a question which I'm hoping you guys could answer.
Let's say there's a couple who both are permanent residents of Canada. The husband acquired permanent residency in 2016. He sponsored his wife for PR which she acquires in 2019.
Now in the year 2019, as per the new C-6 rule, husband is eligible for citizenship wheras the wife is still ineligible and has to wait three years before she can apply for citizenship.
My question is can the husband apply alone for citizenship in 2019 or should he have to wait till 2022, when the wife is eligible to apply for citzenship and they both apply together.
