Hello everyone
I have been living in BC for a while as a PR and I have just moved to Southern Ontario. I satisfy my RO for citizenship 15th of April. I'm planning to apply for my Ontario ID next week and should receive my new permanent provincial ID in 3 or so weeks.
I will need to use the provincial ID or the health card as one of the IDs for the application.
I have never travelled outside Canada during the 3 year period and my current provincial ID from BC was issued in September 2020. (I have moved within BC in the past but didn't change my address on the ID).
I remember seeing posts in the past (some in the distant past - 2014ish) that said there are high chances of RQ if the provincial ID/Driver's license was issued within the past 3 months.
1. I would like to hear others experience who have applied under similar circumstances - moved to a new province and then applying with a newly issued provincial ID. Would you say there any specific delays in your application attributable to this new ID? Or is this no longer a concern?
2. Based on my reading of the documentation requirements for the application, I will have to use either my DL or the health card as an ID (the other ID will be my foreign passport). No other ID can replace the provincial ID. Is this correct?
3. If an ID issued within 3 months is going to be a problem, can I include the copies of my past IDs (as additional documentation) as proof of my continuous presence in Canada?
4. Is it prudent to wait for the 3 months to pass before applying?
Thanks in advance!
