Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello,

I am wondering the processing for applying for CIC in 2015,

I am applying via Common-Law however thinking of withdrawing my application due to the long processing times..

I have been working in Canada for 3 years now - 2 years in the IEC VISA and then 1 under Implied Status.

Service Desk Support Analyst (Help Desk support) and a Technical Support Analyst roles.

They are both IT roles very similar to a General IT help desk roles.

I am told that these are both on the NOC List and that I can apply...

How long does the process take and what do I get out of it?

  • Do I just get given a work permit and can just work in Canada?
  • Do I get given Permanent Residency?
  • How long does processing take?
  • I am in Canada now, what happens when I apply. Can I work?

If you have a current WP and you get your AOR under CEC, then you can apply for BOWP. Otherwise no.
  • Do I get given Permanent Residency?
Apply under various streams for a PR. From January, 2015, it will be under Express Entry.

Depends on the EE process.

1 year under implied status?

Re: Applying for CEC in 2015 (IT Role Experience) Help

Yeah 1 year under Implied Status working for my same Employer under Common law.

So applying via CEC doesn't give you PR Status once its all processed? Just allows you to come to Canada and work? for how long?

Yes, CEC, if approved will grant you PR. But come January, you will have to apply through Express Entry.
