Hi, This forum is awesome and very informative. I am from Karachi, Pakistan.
I am 29 years old boy.
I had done my intermediate(high school) back in 1999 with 65% marks.
I was unable to study till 2006 because of my personal family problems. They were serious and severe in nature.
Once I was in my right mental state I was able to resume my studies again. I did a 6 month diploma in Networking and also done a 2 and half year diploma in Multimedia technologies (studied courses like web designing, advanced animation, computer graphics and working with Maya software and so on). My last school attended (APTECH Worldwide)was in October 2009. I do not have a degree unfortunately and I need to compete with degree holders back in my country. I am thinking about persuing my Bachelors in Computer Science from a Canadian University/School. As far as language proficiency is concerned, My IELTS score is 7.0.I can easily afford financial part of the education but my other things are a little bit weak. And I need your sound advice regarding this.
Two brothers live in the USA. One is US citizen and also a Permanant Resident of Canada but he works in the USA and have visitied only Canada 4-5 times(since 2004 when he became PR) in his whole life.
My other brother is a Green Card holder in the USA. He is the one who will sponsor my trip in Canada.
Q1: He will show 100,000 ( 1 lac US dollars) in his bank account. Is this amount sufficient for my whole trip?
Q2: Will I need to mention the status of my brother (Who is PR of Canada) while applying for a visa? If your brother or family memeber is already a PR or Citzien this factor is
often considered as a negative point by Visa officers? There is a great chance that I will immigrate there too. Yes/No
Q3: Is Bachelors in Computer Science in line with my previous studies? Yes/No
Q4: How should I cover up my gap from 2000 to 2005? Should I show some kind of work experience letter? My brothers run company abroad in the USA, they can issue me a work experience letter which is verifiable like I have been working for their company but I will not mention anywhere else that I have a blood relative connection with them. Will this option work out or not? Every educational consultant I have talked to have suggested me to cover up this educational gap?
Q5: Which universities and schools in Canada fits my educational profile? Can you list some of them so that I can check their admission requirements?
Q6: deciding to leave your work back in home country and going for studies instead is often viewed that I will work there instead of studies?
Q7:Is it applying for a School instead of a University looked upon as a negative point like I am not a serious student?
Q8: Will I need to pay first semester fees before applying for visa? Yes/No
Q9: When will next semester start in Canada? January/Feburary/March, 2011.
Please kindly answer these questions. I'd really appreciate your help.
