the process isn't difficult. only a few complications will come in your way and you can easily get yourself understand with the help of this forum. you will first need to calculate your points if you qualify, do apply, guidance is there on the website. www.cic.gc.ca plus all the forms are there and there is an instruction guide for how to fill all the forms, as well. so i guess no need to spend such a huge amount of money. people who have applied by themselves are much more better than those who have applied through an agent, agent can sometime rip you off, can be lazy. and the process may go very lengthy for you.
you will have to prepare all your documents by yourself, the agent will not do it for you. so why take help from an agent, if you need anything to know just post a question on this forum people will pour to answer your post. hope this helps. good luck
