Hi all,

I would like to apply asylum in Canada. I finished 4-years school in Canada few years ago, and therefore I know everything about the country.
I am from Saudi Arabia which is a very conservative muslim country. All adult men must pray in the mosque 5 times a day, but I am not muslim and tired of acting to be a muslim. Saudis cannot leave their religion or even convert to another religion (no freedom of religion), otherwise, they will be penalised.

It is worth to point out that I am currently in Europe.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

You have to be in Canada to apply for asylum. What you know about Canada as a country isn’t relevant. If you’re in Europe, which is a safe area, why not apply for refuge there ?
You have to show, have evidence you’ve been persecuted, not a generalization

It is mainly because of the language barrier.

Does Canada have Safe Third Country Agreement with European countries?

No, but a language barrier is not a concrete reason . It’s known as refugee shopping . If you’re life is in danger , then choosing a country to apply just because of the language used , is ridiculous
Btw, if English is the language , the UK uses English, and if it’s French , then it would be France
Both in Europe. As mentioned, you, have to have concrete evidence of persecution.

Would you suggest to grab a flight from Saudi?

What is your status in Europe? Do you have a valid TRV at this time?

Note there's a travel ban in place right now so you won't be able to board a flight to Canada regardless of where you are coming from.

I am visiting and am currently stuck here. And yes, I have a valid TRV at this time.

Flying to Canada isn't an option at this time, either from Europe or Saudi.

You'll need to wait until the COVID-19 travel ban is lifted. Right now it's in place until end of June. Possible it could be extended.

Thank you, but do you think I have a case?

The details you've provided are on the weaker side of things as claims go. But perhaps there are more details to provide. Suggest you consult with a good Canadian immigration lawyer before you file a claim. That's something you could do now from Europe. Ideally you only want to apply if you have a good chance of succeeding since a failed refugee claim tends to have long lasting impacts to your future travel.

Have you looked into Canada's economic immigration programs like Express Entry? Any chance you qualify through one of those?

Unfortunately I don't qualify as I don't have the work experience. I left Canada right after receiving the PGWP, which was a big mistake.
