Hi,
I was recently told that if you are laid off and already applied for Permanent Residence (and Open Work Permit) you can apply for a Work Permit before you receive OWP. However processing times do not differ much, I got interested in getting a job as a live-in caregiver. Not sure if somebody has the same experience with being laid off as a live-in caregiver.
