If I complete a one-year diploma course with a DLI in Canada, am i eligible to apply & get a work permit, stay back and work, and eventually get my stay in Canada?

If you complete a PGWP eligible program from a DLI you are entitled to a PGWP the length of that program as long as you remain full time. Anything else is not guaranteed

I one year diploma is a bad plan if your objective is to get PR. You should study for two years so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP and increase your chances of getting PR.

I just discovered that the DLI that gave me admission does not run a PGWP eligible programs. I applied because of their flexible payment plan. Your point about running a 2- year program is noted. Can you suggest any DLI that has PGWP eligible programs with very good & flexible payment plan??? Thank you

Definitely switch schools and do not waste your money on a school that does not qualify for a PGWP. I'm sure this is a private college. Private colleges have a poor reputation with employers and offer substandard education. This will be a waste of money.

I'm not familiar with payment plans. You'll need to research that yourself.

Stay away from private colleges. Pick a public college.
