Hey everybody! My situation is following. My student visa has expired on June 30th, I applied for my PR (family class) before the expiry date along with a work permit. So right now I have implied status. I am pregnant and don't have any health insurance at the moment and I really need one so I was thinking: can I still apply for a visitor record even though it has been 90 days since it has expired? I just need it so I can get health care. The guy at Immigration Call centre told me I can try but may be he didn't quite understand my situation.

And is there a way to speed up the process? 10 months for the first stage, seriously. What if I write them a letter and provide a proof that I am pregnant? Will it make it better?

Out of curiosity - what province are you in? The health care rules differ from province to province.

Unfortunately there's no way to speed up stage 1 of the inland process (I'm assuming you applied inland). It won't make a difference that you are pregnant. Unfortunately you'll have to wait 10-11 months for approval.
