Guys,

I'm applying for a visitor visa (TRV) to Canada. I'm planning to take my wife and 10 months old daughter for a sight-seeing trip to Canada. This is our first visit to Canada. I'm self employed, and do not make as much as it is required to foot my expenses in Canada, but I can easily take care of the tickets and the visa charges. My brother stays in Canada on a work permit, and is willing to take care of our stay and other expenses in Canada. Will an invitation letter from him stating the same supported by HIS tax documentation and bank statements help to get the visa approved?

Also, he's going to be in Canada for a long time, so we are looking at a multiple entry visa (10 years validity) for my family, considering that the charges for single / multiple entry visa for family is the same. What should be the eligibility criteria here?

@Johnny31... thanks, I went through that... it's the last point about having enough money that I need a clarification on.... will it suffice if my brother shows (with relevant docs) that he can support me and my family during our stay in Canada, or do I have to show money in my own bank account?

@firefox793... I'm planning to apply next week... my brother is sending me a notarized invitation letter anyway stating that he'll support our stay, so we're waiting on it... but I wanted to be sure...

Also, any idea about the multiple entry visa eligibility? (I understand that it may not be 10 years, and it's probably decided by the visa authorities)

Whiteboard - in your shoes, I would ensure that there was evidence for funding by BOTH you and your brother. Th
