Hi all,

I left Canada in June 2017 after separating from my husband. I was/am a permanent resident (established PR August 2014).

In July 2017 I gave birth to a baby girl in the USA. Her father is Canadian residing in BC. She is currently a US citizen.

I'd like to get her dual citizenship if possible and try and apply for the same for myself. How do I go about this for the both of us?

I should note both of us are currently in the US. My goal is to return to BC.

Thanks for the reply!

For my daughter would CIT 0001 be the correct form?

I have lived in Canada since March of 2013 (that's what is on my papers) so I'm assuming I've met the requirements?

I have been looking at the CIT 0001 form. It says under identity documents she will need 2 pieces of personal information, one of which has a photo on it.

I assume that I must get her a US passport to have a photo ID? And then her other document can be her birth certificate?
