SPP are for students pursuing their studies in some particular institutions/colleges. Check if your institution is listed here:http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/spp-ppe.aspx?lang=eng

It has some strict rules. The general category is for everyone who can't apply under the SPP.
