Apply for PR card renewal while not in Canada and ship to my Canadian home?

Hello experts,

I am working in the US. My PR card will be expiring in 9 months. My citizenship application is in process for 2 years now (another topic).
My question is can I apply to renew my PR card while I am in the US? and ship the card to my home in Ontario, Canada. Hopefully, I will visit home soon when the quarantine is gone or I will have to courier the card over to me in the US.

My concern is will my non-physical presence in Canada trigger the process of not issuing the card? or they may ask to pick up the card in person.
Open to suggestions.

You must apply to renew your PR card from Canada. You may be required to come and pick up the card in person.
