Apply for Funds under Family Sponsorship

Hello

I have been hearing that you can apply for funds/support for parents under the family sponsorship. My parents just landed and got their PR and I am wondering if I can apply for family support from the government given I sponsored them? any idea?

Not sure where you heard that. It's actually the opposite.

You're actually the one who is financially responsible for them (either 10 year or 20 years - depending on when their application was submitted). You agreed to be financially responsible for them when you signed the sponsorship forms. If they receive any funds through social assistance during this period, the government will go after you to pay this money back.

Either you need to financially support them or they need to financially support themselves.
