Apply for a PR card when landing?

Hi folks,

Today I landed as a new immigrant at Peace Arch. The officer told me I'm also automatically applying for a PR card, but he didn't have me fill out the PR card application, or take my two photos. What was your experience? Did you have to give them the photos, or maybe they already have my picture scanned?

As of March 2013, PR card application forms and photos are not required.
