Hi,

I have a valid OWP until Feb 2020. Can I apply to extend my OWP with my employer/LMIA in order to keep working in Canada before I apply for EE via CEC?

I am worried that I will apply for CEC and not get AOR before my current work permit expires, therefore I won't be able to apply for a Bridging Visa.

If I apply for a OWP extension, I am on implied status?

You probably can't extend your OWP but will need to transition to a Closed Work Permit instead based on the employer offer AND the LMIA.
Let's see what others think....

What kind of OWP do you hold now?

It's a valid open work permit that I obtain whilst doing an inland spousal PR application. My partner and I split up before I got my PR, but the OWP is still valid until Feb 2020. I understand that I am a Temp Foreign Worker in this case.

Oh, in that case, no you can't extend it, as the conditions it was issued under are no longer valid.

Hi Guys,

My CRS score is currently at 434.

I'm planning to get points for a valid job offer (supported by LMIA) and my company agrees to do so for me.

Right now I'm working under PGWP which is valid for another 2 years. Do i have to re-apply for another work permit after I get my LMIA to get the 50 points?

Or I can get the 50 points and get ITA then re-apply for my work permit along my PR application being processed.

Please HELP. THANK YOU!
