Apply for a closed work permit while BOWP is in process

Hi guys,
I have applied for BOWP in the end of october.
My current one is going to expire in few days.
I have a LIMA exempt work contract.
Since I will be in implied status soon and if they reject my BOWP I am basicaly screwed, I would like to apply for a closed work permit based on my work contract.
The question is can I have two applications at the same time?
If I do do so, does it affect my BOWP?

I would say you are free to apply for what ever permit you want, obviously there is no guarantee it will be approved but you can apply for both at the same time. I would probably also call CIC and ask them, also I'd suggest calling back again a second time and ask someone different. I would probably also ask them to email me with the information so I had it in writing (although I highly doubt they will).

I applied for a Closed WP while my BOWP was in process.
Nothing to be concerned about and none of the applications affect one another.
Fortunately, my BOWP got approved early this week.
