Applied PRTD online from Pakistan in Jan 2026

Hello everyone,

My PR Card was expired in 2020 since that I am living in Pakistan. I applied online for PRTD on Humanitarian grounds.
Date applied: January 12, 2026. Since I did not receive any acknowledgement Email and I Cannot link my apllication to IRCC GC account.
Can any body guide about the processing time of Acceptance or Refusal of application.

Since you applied Jan 12, 2026, you are currently only about 7–8 weeks in, which is still within a normal waiting period. If you did not receive an email within about 72 hours, IRCC recommends contacting them using their web form. Processing time for PRTDs based on H&C take a long time to processes. Based on recent example could easily end up taking over a year.

My tooks 8 months and the refuse because of residency obligation my son is Canadian citizen 17 years old he is alone there they also not consider best interest of child if any advice email me babyimran7221@gmail.com
I m going to appeal IAD
Hope for best but I think it will also take 2/3 years in process very disappointed

I m going to appeal IAD after refusal of prtd on h &c grounds and best interest of child my son is in Canada and a minor Canadian too he is grade 12 student, I just want to after appeal did they consider me and my circumstances or not how long this process is? Prtd process took 8 months I don't know about this much any suggestion would be appropriated

Hire a lawyer. Having a Canadian child does not guarantee status for parents. At this point your child is almost 18 so would be considered an adult. When did you get PR? How much time have you spent in Canada in the past 5 years? Since getting PR? Has your child spent their whole life living in Canada?
