Passport Req..

My PR is now with the status of"application received" on Apr 9.

Due to my job and house rental ,I better leave my country in Sept 2014

Im assuming they will ask for my passport during Aug/sept if everythings ok,heard if cic took my pp it takes at least 2-3 mths in my country's VO

Is it ok if i wait in canada in sept as a visitor ?

since my passport might be taken by cic at that time, should I apply for a new passport just in case?

I then ask my parent in hk to mail the PP to me to canada once they get it back from CIC

does my plan works?

many thanks

Once you send your passport, you can no longer do international travel. So you better make sure you are already in Canada when you get passport request, and that you will be able courier your passport to your visa office with no problems.

You also need to check if you need a special TRV visa to come to Canada as a visitor, and if so will need to apply and get approved for this.

thanks Rob
so can i ship my stuffs with containers before PPR?

If you ship your things before, you will pay full tax/duties on everything. You don't get exempt from that, until you actually have your PR approved.

Do you hold an HKSAR passport? If so, you are visa-exempt to Canada and CIC will not request your passport.

yes im holding a HKSAR passpord..
what?does cic supposed to request my passport for the final stage of application?

As I said, HKSAR passport is visa-exempt, so CIC will not need to request your passport.

No, they might request a copy of your passport though, for example a scanned copy of it.

oh yeah?
i was wondering they need to put a PR paper into my passport smth like that

No, that's for countries that require a physical visa to enter Canada. They get a paper put into the passport. You'll get your Copy of Permanent Residency in the mail which you will use to enter Canada as a PR.
