Applied for work permit extension but Passport gone to BLS Canada for renewal...

Hi,
I have just applied for my work permit extension yesterday but 2 weeks back I had submitted by passport for renewal to BLS Canada. It will take another 3 weeks to arrive.
Now , my passport is expiring on May 2021, does it mean I will get my renewed work permit till May 2021 only ?
if I send immigration office a webform later will that work ? Or the passport details I already submitted will determine when till what time will my work permit get extended to.

I am in same boat, could you please tell me what action you took ? did you get validity as per new passport or old passport ?

Any way we can update IRCC about our new passport ?
